2. We've dropped the fees of Payments above R100 to 2.6% (cheaper than eWallet) - in a move to provide a platform that can be used to pay domestic workers and gardeners (like so many of you are already doing). This means we take ZERO commission when you tip/pay more than R100.
3. uPhil is now officially available on the Google (Android) Play store and the Apple App store.
4. Recipients can request to receive tips via eWallet (while we wait for Shoprite to launch the ability to withdraw their tips).

The receiver does not have to know what uPhil is for you to tip them. They don't need a bank account or uPhil. All they need is a cellphone number.
We will send them a QR code and a message explaining how payout works.
They are paid out Daily through the Shoprite Money Market Account.
Receivers get 96% of tips below R100 and 97.4% of tips above R100 (for when you pay your domestic worker).
They can spend their tips (for FREE) at Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Super Cash and Carry, selected Spaza shops, etc. Shoprite will also give them the option to withdraw their tips (launching in May).
